mhart032
My lights came on this morning and i saw something that looks not so good. i think its a peppermint shrimp that molted and didnt finish. it seems to still be alive its sitting on my orange cap and the tenticals are moving and its moves some but it has no shell at all. i cant get a pic of it because of where its at. as soon as the MH come on i think its toast i think it will burn. i dont want to touch it or move it. any suggestions? +dapettit
I'm willing to bet when the lights come on it will scurry to a hiding place.
caferacermike
Do you ever dose MG? Keeping MG levels elevated will help all shellfish molt. I'll forget to buy a bottle and let it slip for a month or so and then buy a bottle. Add some to the water and almost instantly all of my shrimp go to molt. mhart032
i add mag every week, thats when it tests low bout once a week.. the shrimp didn't make it.. he floated =/
caferacermike
I'd think that a fish or other invert attacked the shrimp, and possibly because it was soft due to the molt, causing its shell to look the way it did.

Zarathustra2
Do you ever dose iodine? I very very rarely dose it and then usually in small amounts but notice that when I do my shrimp molt almost over night with a complete molt. Actually, thats the reason I dose it. Zarathustra2
This is the only reason I dose Iodine/Iodide. I've also heard that it is needed for softies, especially non photo types like dendros. Anyone have experience with it?
