Miranda
So while tending to my husbands tank this morning I noticed what looks like a black worm. How can we get rid of it? I'm assuming it came from some coral we bought at a lfs yesterday. First time we've bought from this store and first time we've seen any sort of hitchhiker. Thanks ahead of time. See picture of the worm that I've attached.
FarmerTy
Looks like a peanut worm... Harmless and actually helpful.

Reburn
Well that's good news and bad news at the same time. It's a good hitchhiker you get but the bad news is it shouldn't have made it through your dipping procedure. Do you dip your corals prior to introduction into your tank? Miranda
Well I guess my response from my phone didn't go through. We actually didn't dip. But we are from now on. Lesson learned.
Woods
It isn't necessarily from coral frags. It could have come in on wet live rock you purchased from an LFS or club member. You wouldn't dip live rock. In fact, I would be surprised if it came in on a frag unless you are buying larger frag colonies.... In either case it is good to dip frags, but doesn't mean it is indeed from one...
