I see it for sale by the gallon at HD. Would I just put a bit on a paper towel and scrub or put it straight on then wipe off. Do you let it sit? BornToHula
Well tried just the Magic Eraser... No difference. Haven't tried any vinegar soak yet... ****, it must be some serious water deposits. Maybe try the vinegar and the magic eraser together? If that doesn't work the next thing I would try is the Bon Ami, which is a harsher abrasive cleaner than the magic eraser. The ingredients are listed on their website, but you probably will want to use a tray or something underneath the brace to be sure none of it falls into the tank. I know it works on rain/sprinkler deposits - don't know if they are any different than saltwater deposits. Muratic acid. Like in a tiny area to test but that should eat though it. I bet this will work but you will need to be extremely careful. Have you seen what it does to live rock!?
+brian.srock
I would just do the muratic acid on the top side. You can get it at any hardware or pool supply. What you should try is just sand paper. Something like 120 grit and some elbow work.
Juiceman
It looks like I'm going to go with removing it and added a steel brace instead. I tried the vinegar today... And I tried Bar Keeps Friend also in the center. Didn't do anything. Not going to try anything else to what I'm planning on removing now.
