Derek
I have a few montipora colonies in my tank. One of my colonies isn't doing great. Nothing is picking on it. It's is just dying. That water parameters are good. The salinity is a bit high but the other colonies are fine. Salinity is 1.026 right now but was 1.029 a few weeks ago. I've been bringing it down slowly. Anyone know if montipora are super sensitive to swings in salinity?
FarmerTy
Derek, I had some issues with my montis when my salinity was higher too. It could be a possibility. If you want, swing some water by me sometime during the week and I'll test it for you to see if anything looks off.
Dan H
Check your magnesium as well. Some of my montis are very unhappy with low mag.
Derek
Thanks guys. My salinity is getting back to normal. My other montis seem fine. I'll check the mag to see if it's low.
JimD
Also, check the underside of the montipora for montipora nudibranchs, they can be hard to spot...
