haze152
So I had to take down my 125 due to moving into a smaller place. I am going to setup a 20 gallon high. 24" width. I am trying to decide what lighting to use. I currently have an 18" t5 ho dual bulb that I used on my hospital tank. Option 1 just use the current light. Does need new bulbs Option 2 use current light with 12 in wave point white and blue led. Downside I would have to modify the rim of the tank. The good I could use this led for refug light when I do a new build http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007ZK816S/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1428522927&sr=8-1&keywords=12+%22+wavepoint+led&dpPl=1&dpID=410yCXPyClL&ref=plSrch&pi=AC_SY200_QL40 Option 3 4 bulb t5 down side not sure what I would use the light for after new build maybe a frag tank http://m.ebay.com/itm/221614978449?nav=SEARCH Option 4 I have a 24" PC light needs new bulbs not even sure if I can find bulbs Things to keep in mind. 1. I don't want to spend a lot on light I will be doing another build 75 gallon or larger in 6-18 months 2. Coral will be z and p some LPS frogspawn torch and acans maybe a chalice maybe some low end SPS digi birdsnet monti
Timfish
If this is just a short term setup I would go with the cheapest option which looks like just buying some new bulbs.
victoly
I have a 250w radium that would be pretty stellar...
haze152
I just don't think the dual bulb 18" is strong enough I know the PC would be however I can't find replacement bulbs it has a weird square plug
FarmerTy
I'd scratch the PC bulbs. Personally, I'd do option #2 because I like the ability to reuse as a sump light down the road on your new tank.
haze152
Ty that is what I am leaning towards I have seen the wavepoint on a 24" tank it has good coverage and with the dual t5 it should be more than enough light
