dshel1217
One of my acros is missing a few pieces/chunks. I havent seen any parasites but im not rule that out at all. Below are a few pics of the same frag at different angles showing some missing flesh.Suspect livestockyellow tang and foxface.
FarmerTy
I'd dip it just to see what falls off and otherwise suspect the foxface. They are very curious by nature and like to test everything with a nibble or two. Mine never really chomped down on anything but would always taste a bit here and there.
Timfish
In my experience if a fish is going to take a bite off a coral it's not going to be shy about taking more so I doubt what we're seeing here is caused by a fish. As JeeperTy said you should dip it but when I see tissue loss in the middle of a frag I'm inclined to think either physical damage from handling or bumping up against another coral or it's just not acclimating for some reason.
