jestep
But seriously, it definitely is aiptasia. Get it before it spreads.

Sascha D.
Haha! That was great. Got an insulin needle? Injection is the best method I've tried.

victoly
Remember when I asked if you had aiptasia-x? I'm actually from the future....
Jimbo662
Wow!!! so...am I successful at getting rid of it?
Sascha D.
You should probably ask if you're going to kill anything in the tank getting rid of it. The question you asked is too open ended!
Jimbo662
I assumed using the majano wand it would only kill the aptasia. There's nothing within about 4" of it.
Neon Reefer
Problem is w/ a wand or Aplasia X those little buggers can retract real fast and then they get p^ssed off and repay your efforts with letting lots of offspring out into the tank ((
Jimbo662
Should I try covering it with super glue gel? it's on a rock at the bottom of the highest stack. :-(
FarmerTy
I'm pretty sure it's in their DNA to setup shop on the lowest rock at the bottom of your stack of liverock.
Timfish
I'm pretty sure it's in their DNA to setup shop on the lowest rock at the bottom of your stack of liverock. Something else Ty and I agree on!
Bpb
I'm pretty sure it's in their DNA to setup shop on the lowest rock at the bottom of your stack of liverock. No kidding!!!!! I've got one big boy aiptasia about 1.5" in diameter at the oral disc that is so fast and I can never get to before it retracts
Jimbo662
It looks like it's on the edge of a little hollow spot on the rock. Think it would work if I fill in the hole and cover it with gel?
something to reef on
If you cannot get the rock out and chip it off I would super glue that little *******. in past tanks I always found trying to inject them was not very effective and seemed to cause them to spread. Super glue worked best in my experience
nori4dori
Since you only have one right now I would strongly suggest taking out the rock if at all possible and bleaching it. If you are lucky you may be able to kill it by injecting or covering with glue. But remember, the head you see is only the tip. The base is probably somewhere much deeper inside the rock. I was lucky that I was able to get rid of them for good. Every time I saw one I took out the rock and bleached it. After killing about 5 or 6 I haven't seen any in 4 months. Jimbo662
The hole it's in looks to be less than 1/4" deep...that's why I thought it may work to fill it in completely.
FarmerTy
I think your superglue idea may be the ticket... the worry is are there any more you can't see.
