Wade
ive put off painting as long as I can. My wife's insisting. Are fumes from regular latex paint harmful to coral and fish?
+KimP
I hope not. I painted a few times the inside of my new stand just a few feet away from my tank and nothing seemed to notice. We have good airflow in that part of the house and the a/c was on a lot. That probably helped.
+Grog
I would say no. I've done some extensive home remodeling near my tanks....
Reburn
Latex, no. Oil based Enamel, iffy Stain and varnish probably depending on the proximity. Rolling or brushing any of them is probably fine. I wouldn't use a airless spray rig in the same room with out covering.
Bpb
Recently painted the entire living room with latex interior. Didn't even cover the tank. Saw no immediate backlash, though I've had my fair share of issues. I don't believe any of them to be paint related. I couldn't even smell the paint truthfully. Wife wanted to paint the tank wall too and asked if I can just scoot it foreward a couple feet for the afternoon. lol. 90 gallon disp, 40 gallon sump. One doesnt simply "scoot it foreward real quick"
