lenver
I have a 150 tall tank and wanted to get a Lionfish and an eel, what would you recommend?
+brian.srock
I would use the liveaquaria chart and probably go with 2 eels, a foxface, and lion http://www.liveaquaria.com/general/compatibility_chart.cfm

lenver
Sorry, I'm really looking for something a little more uncommon, I'm thinking zebra but don't know what other type of eel besides that one Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk

Euphoric Eulogy
What about a Dragon Wrasse? I think they look pretty awesome.
lenver
They have to be reef safe, I'm keeping all my coral, I like the dragon wrasse a lot but it's a no go since I'm keeping my coral, the coral looks awesome I'm thinking now that if I place great looking predators the tank will shine Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk

Timfish
I think a P. radiata is prettier but you could also go with a group of one of the dwarf species. If you are trying to keep these fish with your corals I think more importantly you need to source food items that have not been treated with phosphates as is found in almost all seafood at local grocery stores. lenver
I liked the P. radiata, but there seem to be a lot of challenges with it like finding a good healthy specimen and getting them to eat frozen foods, that's really the only reason why I'm going more for the volatin, unless I find a good P. radiata specimen that's already eating frozen foods. lenver
I agree that's probably the nicest eel, but the price is what kills it. And please don't think I'm trying to shutdown ideas, I'm welcoming all of them, just want to point out why I can't do certain livestock. Dean
That eel certainly put up the good fight. Unfortunately for him it just wasn't enough. Lol. Great vidoes!
Sascha D.
That tesslata is about 20 years old and they seldom get that big in captivity, definitely not in a 150g. Check out videos on youtube of them in home tanks. Another thing is that eels in the home tank are fed much more than they eat in the wild and don't hunt nearly as much. The Skeletor, Jewled Moray, Zebra, and Comet Eels are good choices and do not get as large.
