RobR
The tank is looking good Kim! What kind of acro is that you got form Juiceman? It's a really good looking piece of coral. Great looking gorg and rastas too. Did you decide on a tang yet?

I haven't exactly decided yet on the tang, but leaning towards the yellow eye kole tang and hoping it won't pick on my little fish.

+KimP
Alright, this is happening. I have this big Cerameco barnacle that covers my closed loop intake and it's covered with this red hair algae. Peroxide treatments in the tank are very effective but we've only been treating small parts of it at a time. I'm about to pull the whole thing out, pop off the corals and dip the whole thing in peroxide and scrub off everything I can, then rinse well and replace. There aren't any zoas or palys or any other corals encrusted on it, so I'm not having to worry about palytoxin, but I'm still going to be careful and wear all the safety garb. Here's what it looks like now from all 3 sides:

+KimP
The most hardcore form of nutrient export! Niiiice!Yep. I took out all my algae related frustrations scrubbing it [emoji35]. I wasn't able to get it all off, which sucks frankly, but it's better than it was. I used the stiffest scrubber I had too. Oh well, the peroxide will kill anything left.Pre scrubbing After Couldn't really get the inside with the brush
FarmerTy
Mexican turbo snails will wipe out that red turf algae like nothing Kim as an alternative if it grows out again... but peroxide is way more fun.
+KimP
Decided to dump another big bottle of peroxide all over it, just in case.

+KimP
The fish were all busy investigating the change. It's back in! I tried a different rotation but I might put it back the way it was. Seems you can see more of the intake this way. I also took the opportunity to swap out a fairy dust paly covered rock for an empty one. Gotta keep those things in check. I'm loving having drilled rock. I was able to rotate rocks out of the way to pull out the barnacle, and by having some pre drilled rock in the sump, it was super easy to pull some off to get to the one I wanted to pull out, then slide them back on.
+KimP
See how the red algae had stained it pink in the above pictures? Today it's all gone and looks brand new! Except for the inside, which I think is interesting. I got the inside well with peroxide but wasn't really able to scrub. I guess the peroxide didn't work it's way down to the roots, or maybe it just needs more time to fade away. I'm very pleased with the results. Too bad the eel lives in the rock below the barnacle, so I can't really pull it out for peroxide and scrubbing. It's covered the worst with red algae. At least the corals on it are looking really good!
+KimP
Pictures from tonight. This is with my lights turned all the way white. I wish the bluer light would work with my phone camera, but oh well. Most of the corals still look pretty good As you'll see, I'm still dealing with an aiptasia outbreak, red and green algae, and bryopsis. Bryopsis is the new thing that's popped up. I'll be dealing with that next. I've been checking my alkalinity every night and doing my best to keep it stable around 7.5dkh. Still doing weekly water changes and scrubbing the rocks. It's really coming along! Orange leptastrea Frog spawn and scoly Found a Monti hidden in those rastas Thorned oyster Baby thorned oyster? FarmerTy
Corals look great Kim! That setosa looks like its on fire! I'd zap that bryopsis with peroxide and/or Tech M as soon as possible. It can go plague level in a just a few weeks in the right environment.

I'm going to let give_me_bryopsis gather as much as she can at the meeting Sat, then it's game on. I had a bout of it in my old 90 gal and was very successful with the Tech M and my foxface. Let's hope this will be the same.

+KimP
What are the 2 NPS below the Setosa, they look really happy? Thanks, the orange ones are dendros, and the white/clear ones are hidden cup corals that came as hitchhikers on a rock I got many years ago. I think those are my oldest coral.
