At 5W to the gallon, I would consinder your light intensity sufficient for most any photosynthetic inhabitants. For a deep water theme, you would need more blue in your light spectrum. victoly Posted December 7, 2013 Share Posted December 7, 2013 I've got 250w of MH over my 29 , which i consider to be on the high end and requires both light spill management and temperature management (evaporation fan and chiller). it's a pendant fwiw, and I would try to mount it out of canopy if possible. many consider 10k to be a little more yellow than is palatable.
