FarmerTy
Looking good! In the process of doing the same thing myself. Where'd you get those schedule 80 gate valves from if you don't mind me asking?
ceastman
I have had these valves for close to 10 years, so I don't remember where I got them from but I did some googling and it looks like they are made by George-Fischer: http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=23933&catid=955 as you can see in the picture above, I put these valves all around the pumps, so if the pump fails, I can easily remove the pump for repair or replacement. FarmerTy
Looks great. I'll be doing something very similar so its good to see another similar setup. Never thanked you for your response about the valves. Is that a euro reef skimmer?
ceastman
Ty, I got the protein skimmer, calcium reactor and kalkwasser from http://myreefcreations.com/ They don't make my exact model skimmer any more but it looks close to the MR-3 with dual injectors: http://www.myreefcreations.com/product-lines/protein-skimmers/standard-skimmers/mr-3.html I have an Iwaki MD70-RLT attached to it
FarmerTy
MRC, I came across the name a bunch while doing my research for a new skimmer. Heard some great things about their skimmers and also their CaRX.
Sascha D.
MRC, I came across the name a bunch while doing my research for a new skimmer. Heard some great things about their skimmers and also their CaRX. No vendors in TX. I've never heard of them myself, but the website looks good. ceastman
Finished plumbing the refugium and got the RO/DI unit attached to the wall: How long are test kits good for? PH, Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite, etc.? same question for the calibration kits. They are all roughly 8 years old.
victoly
Those kits are toast.

victoly
Depends on the type of silicone. Some come with a mold retardant that will mess your tank up.

FarmerTy
The pukani rock is what I ordered to add to my system with the upgrade. I requested that they send show-sized pieces and they delivered. They looked great and very porous indeed.

ceastman
Salt and sand are starting to show up. Also got the RO membrane and the dual in line TDS meter. So far 265 tds in 5 tds out.
victoly
Are you running DI resin? If so, it should be down at 0 tds out if you have new membranes/filter media.
