They dropped their bombs to lighten their load so their fuel would last long enough for them to make it back to base. The bombs didn't explode. Their designed that way. Robb in Austin Posted July 22, 2013 Share Posted July 22, 2013 I too thought it was a giant fuss over nothing. Dropped into deep waters, inactive bombs. Granted, we should have aimed a little further outside the WHS designated line, but it's not like we dropped them onto a active reef section and blew a crater 1/2 mile across out of it either.
