Would be amazing if it was a rose bubble tip, always wanted one. How fast do they grow? It has been in that same spot and is at the top of the tank, lots of light and moderate flow over it. All over as in "there are one or two on most rocks" not as in "they're like g-d coraline algae". My understanding - they're fine, don't get big, prefer low light. I've seen sites that say they can overrun a tank, or hurt coral, but I'm pretty much FOWLR except for some zoas/xenia, so as long as it's not aiptasia in the DT, I'm fine.
