Wade
Do you all usually quarantine snails and crabs before you add them like you would fish and coral? If not, why not?
Timfish
I do but them in a holding tank for at least a week or two but I do not quarintine them for 30 days like I do fish.
+Capt. Obvious
I do in a small tank to check for problems (pyramid snails or other nasty hitchhikers)
Wade
Would I have to run a separate small tank or could I partition off part of my 20g QT?
victoly
Nope. I haven't seen, noticed anecdotally, or read that they are capable of carrying diseases transferable to any other inhabitants.
+KimP
I don't know anything of them carrying disease either but I can see putting them in something else for a while to sort out the ones that didn't make it through shipping. I hate dumping a bag of snails in only to find out I littered my sandbed with a bunch of empty/dead snail shells. That's if you order them. Wade
Good point Kim. That's what I did when I ordered my original clean up crew and your'e right, i littered my sand bed with a bunch of empty shells. What would I feed them while they're quarantined? (Bio)³
I like to dump my new snails into a tubberware container and stick it on the bottom, after 3 days I pull it because typically all the live have crawled out by then.
sifuentes31
Thats a good idea. I've got tons of empty shells on my sand (the small cerith snail shells).
jestep
Visual inspection. Pyramid snails are pretty common on nerites. I haven't ever found any on ceriths, nessarius, or turbos.

Trying collecting them all up and sticking them in a tub, anything that crawls out was still alive, after 3 days its out of the tank and a clean sandbed!
