bimmerzs
Running carbon will remove any smell. Any chance that your new water cycled on you before you got a chance to use it or was it just mixed? Maybe check out those canister filters. I would mix up more fresh saltwater just to have in case it's needed. Have you checked your parameters yet...including ammonia and nitrites? +KimP
If you make your own water, if the DI resin needs changing it can make the water smell pretty funky. I don't know if that'd make the whole tank smell though. Just a thought.
esacjack
+1 KimP did you check the TDS of the water you put in? Where did you perform the water change? Did you take water out of the display? or out of the sump? Are you running a skimmer? Lastly, do you have any mushroom corals or palythoa in your tank? Timfish
How's the smell? One thing I've noticed is sometimes when the water is left low for a while you can get an algae smell like you smell at the beach sometimes.
ggooden
The smell is good and I didnt do anything to it but i think my tank is going through a mini cycle because there is Brown Algae everywhere
