+olaggie01
Just walked by my fuge and I see a starfish perched up on top of some live rock. So I snap a picture and then realize that it is spawing. I start to look around the fuge and see handful of other stars standing up and expelling sperm/eggs. I got a few pictures and a short video. If nothing else, my fish will be eating good today and I guess I won't be sticking my hand in the tank for a few hours. Not the best video but you get the idea. FarmerTy
Sweet! Love those little guys. I have literally a million in my tank... maybe not... but gotta be close. Congrats my friend, you are going to be a brittle star grandpa of 100+ new babies. -Ty
+olaggie01
I think I'll call this half Chris Jr and the other half Mikaela Jr. Guess my tank is getting a little more mature now. Or they didn't like the clean water that I just put into the tank.

+o0zarkawater
BUMP Did you ever see a star explosion that you noticed? I had this happen a week or so ago when I did a water change. I didnt know I had that many brittle stars, but every one was up either spitting out eggs or sperm. Skimmer went crazy for a couple days. I didnt know I had that many brittle stars, but every one was up either spitting out eggs or sperm. Skimmer went crazy for a couple days. I never saw a huge explosion in population. I thinned out my cheato shortly after the spawning event, so more than likely I got rid of a lot of the gametes. Something in the water changes makes this occur. Not sure if it is the temp or another ionic imbalance.
