cwilliams
Any and all suggestions would be helpful. I only have zoas/shrooms right now. Planning on adding some sps soon. Just have dual CF lighting right now. Thanks guys!
kmacc05
Check out adding 2 par 38 bulbs. Only 100 each and should be way more than enough for anything to thrive imo. Or add one kessil a150. Both are led so will run cool and should offer plenty of light. Im still a noob so maybe more people can chime in to help. Also look at ai sol nano too. jestep
A single good quality PAR30 or PAR38 LED should work fairly well if positioned at the correct height. Check out the holder from boostled: http://www.boostled.com/category_s/1817.htm. Works with PAR38 fixtures as well. Just make sure the spread is enough to cover the tank and not directly spotlight something. 60 degree optics should be just about right. +brian.srock
You can get a 14k or 20k LED spotlight for $59 http://reefkoi.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20&products_id=2065
victoly
yeah, echoing the sentiments for the single screw in LED. a kessil is going to be overkill IMO. you could always use the screw in for a fuge or in sump frag area down the road. cwilliams
Appreciate it guys. I forgot that I had purchased a couple of custom made par38's from a member on nano-reef awhile back so I'm gonna try suspending one over it and see how it looks. Only thing I worry about is that these were meant to penetrate deep so I have a tiny fear of frying the coral that are already in there.
