esacjack
Yah I noticed that after I hit submit.... le fail. I agree with the post and what you said but I had to laugh when the "bad" star was a top pic and the "good" star was a belly pick.
George Monnat Jr
I look at them as beneficial. Does nobody else? I do ... like I said in my previous post, never had issues with them. +1 I've never seen them being naughty. I don't see them in my 125g like I used to in my old 20g. I see one about once every week or two. They've always been the white ones except a dark one I saw for the first time about a week ago. I don't know if my parameters are less favorable (like when the pineapple sponges disappeared for a few months) or if something is eating them. FarmerTy
I have both dark and light and have not noticed different behaviors between the two color variants in my own tank. I read an article a couple years back about the dark one's being the zoa predators but have not noticed that behavior in my own tank. BBMarlin
If any of you find some that like teal paly's let me know. I'll take the lot!
Robb in Austin
In my tank, the dark colored ones are the zoa eaters.
Sascha D.
+1 for Esacjack. The white ones are good. The black ones are known to eat zoos and sps.
+o0zarkawater
Ive caught mine eating zoas on many occasions, so they DIE. White with some light splotches.
+Mlaw
Besides eating zoos and sps are the darker ones know to do anything else bad? I've got a FOWLR tank and could just throw them in there.
esacjack
actually from what I gather, they are beneficial beyond their occasional love for zoas and sps.

Sure, if you might have texas trash palys to get rid of, but when they eat colonies of ~$20-40 per polyp zoas, then they are not beneficial to me. esacjack
haha what exactly is a texas trash paly? the brown ones? I suddenly picture a reef with some old chevy's on the liverock and a few hundred dog fish roaming around...
JamesL
Probably the tealish ones I have rampaging through my tank right now.
