dshel1217
I was wanting to get some opinions on the “other test kits (Iodine, Fe ect)” and by what I mean is test kits outside of the normal and reef kits( NO3, NO2, Alk, Mag, Ca ect.) Is there a reason to buy/have these kits? Do you uses them and what for (coral colors ect.)? Thanks for your input.

FarmerTy
I use the Red Sea Iodine test kit once every couple of months. That's the only "other" test kit I use.
victoly
Iron is a difficult parameter to test for. Problem is you have 2 different kinds of soluble elemental iron (2+ And 3+). Lots of testing methods (including professional labs) report total iron and not the speciation. Maybe tests have improved, but I'm not sure this is a useful parameter. +brian.srock
Hard enough to test the main 3 so not spending money and those and not worth it for me
bige
I have the iodide/ iodine test kit. You have to be chemist to do it right. And then you do, the results are not very specific. I don't think the out of the norm test kits are necessary. But can be fun if your into that.
