+Jakedoza
I like swag! Have the mothership contact St Arnold and see what they can do about getting a cask conditioned Pumpkinator delivered to BB just for the festivities. HAHAHA... I love the way you think... :-D
lewisweil
I don't think we can get cask conditioned by Thursday night. But I am already thinking about the brews that will be in the shop once the store opens. Speaking of brews I went by Butterfly this evening and caught #gillmurray enjoying a tallboy. Is he even 21 in fish years?
+Jakedoza
We will have to have another meeting at my place next year sometime.. I think Next time I'll have to make 10 gallons of brew.. That 5 gal keg went fast last time..
lewisweil
This is going to sound stupid but I want to homebrew something similar to Lonestar. Is it a cream ale? I want to see what it tastes like when it is really fresh.
+Jakedoza
I think that is similar to a lager.. http://www.austinhomebrew.com/product_info.php?cPath=178_452_43_255&products_id=1731 Yep it is... In order to do a lager you need to be able to ferment at low temps... I have a fermentation chiller, but I can't get temps low enough to do a lager. Beers like that are really hard to do because there is not much taste there. The less taste the more you can taste screw ups..
lewisweil
hmm maybe when it gets cold I can try it in my garage. I am guessing you need long stable low temps though.
+Jakedoza
Yes... Nominal lagering times are 3 - 4 weeks at 45°F, 5 - 6 weeks at 40°F, or 7 - 8 weeks at 35°F.
lewisweil
yeah I don't think I can count on 8 weeks of winter. I do think it would almost be funny to go through all that effort just to make homebrewed lonestar. THREAD DERAILED! Victoly is there a gif for derailings? +olaggie01
Once again, our paths cross Lewis. I've got a beer fridge that I use to ferment lagers. I haven't brewed in a while, but if you want to use my fridge, let me know.
