BBMarlin
Awesome! I've been strongly considering buying a 3d printer. Just need to pull the trigger!

chippwalters
Ill take 2 please. So cool !Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Think of something else which can be printed. It's basically able to print anything within a 5 1/4" cube. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
+KimP
I didn't realize you could buy one of those! That's amazing!
chippwalters
Based on my research, I chose this one because its as close to plug and play as there is-- and it's built by a major player in the professional 3D printing market space. The cons are that there is no forum and little info on how to use it other than a really decent cubify blog. chippwalters
I didn't realize you could buy one of those! That's amazing! Yup. Btw, I'll be at Patrick's tonight and my coral survivors are in the same tank as the LR he has for you. +o0zarkawater
Nice. My brother has access to one that was bought from a university, but I've never played with it.
lewisweil
Makerbot? ATX Hackerspace has printers if anyone wants to give it a go. 26 other people want to chip in $100 each and we can get a Form 1 for ARC members? Only half joking about that. While the Form 1 creates some serious high rez models, I don't think the FormLabs resin is compatible with saltwater. I suspect it would leech serious toxins. It's not safe for humans to touch in its liquid state. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Timfish
Customized parts, that is so cool! And measuring cups with marked for a specific product for a specific tank, that could be real handy.

mFrame
Very cool little product. I've been waiting for the Makerbot prices to come down more, but definitely on my want list!

chippwalters
What software do you use for the 3d modeling? Currently, I'm using SketchUp. It works well and is easy to use. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
JamesWebb
What ends up being the cost of something like that? Talking about the cost of the resin/material itself to make the clamp? Is it economical at this point?
chippwalters
I suspect I can build that part 30-40 times for a $60 cartridge. So, that makes it between $1.50-2.00 per.
