Scutterborn
I'm more worried about lurkers reading than people commenting. - Ben -
Scutterborn
Of course this is all pending an inspection of the fish. He must eat and be free of parasites. I've heard good things about aquadome so I'm more worried about whether he eats or not. - Ben - Edited October 10, 2012 by Scutterborn
victoly
I believe that particular fish has been there for a pretty good while (hunter seemed fond of him when I asked about him last time), so he's gotta be eating something. Was he in that middle level long tank?
Scutterborn
I'm not sure. I've only been there once, yesterday, and don't recall the exact layout. He was on the far wall from the stairs. In the middle, eh, maybe? My memory isn't quite what it used to be. - Ben -
Bannerfish
I'm sure hunter wouldn't mind feeding him before you purchase but if he says he's eating I would be inclined to believe him. He said my cowfish was eating well and he sure was right! That fish eats everything, including my fingers and arms now lol
Scutterborn
Just called the dome to hold it and I was informed it sold last night. - Ben -

Scutterborn
oh snap! a lurker took it! etannnnerrrrrttt I was told it was a regular... Is this a lesson to jump on instinct? I think not. I'm still rather aggravated nonetheless. - Ben -

mFrame
Well, one great thing about the Dome is that they get fish in almost every week. If you tell them what you're looking for they're great about finding it for you.

If you tell them what you're looking for they're great about finding it for you. Yeah. They immediately asked if they could hold the next one that came in for me. That was pretty cool. Unfortunately I reside in San Antonio and am only up here for an extended job. He's worth the drive though. - Ben -
victoly
Let one of us know next time and if they can't hold it, I wouldn't mind holding it until you can get here. Like I said, I office right next to AD and can be there in 5 minutes to grab something. WHICH I DID NOT DO IN THIS SCENARIO.
mFrame
I drive down to San Marcos each week for a Boy Scout meeting, so worst case I could bring it and meet you halfway some night. Assuming they get another one PM me if you need to arrange it.
Scutterborn
I appreciate it, everyone. I'm presumably the only person on the list for this fish. When I get the call, I'll start networking if I need to. - Ben -
jestep
I'm right down the road as well. Would have no problem picking something up for someone.
+etannert
oh snap! a lurker took it! etannnnerrrrrttt Heck, I was at work (in Georgetown) till 10:30 last night. I didn't even get to feed my own fish, let alone buy one out from under someone's nose. On the bright side, my drumline's starting to sound a lot better... Scutterborn
Lol! I'm not mad at anyone. Don't worry. The thing that worries me is their funky availability. Just called back to make sure they got in the exact same species and I was told that they couldn't remember the last time they had one of those. I will add that even though this purchase hadn't worked out, I'm still quite pleased by aquadome. It was a good first impression. - Ben -
victoly
your best bet is to ask for hunter off the bat. he's generally the reef dude. they have a new girl who I haven't really had a chance to talk to yet who is up in the reef section sometimes.
bige
your best bet is to ask for hunter off the bat. he's generally the reef dude. they have a new girl who I haven't really had a chance to talk to yet who is up in the reef section sometimes. Hunter is very good and honest. He will let you talk to him way longer than any employee should. But Gary is very knowledgable. He is quick to reference books and provide his own experiences. He is also an equipment guru. He worked for 20 minutes on a mag 7 for me to get it fixed. Never suggesting I should just buy something. In short, we are lucky down south, to have the dome. fluffybeast
New girl showed me those day before yesterday. She said there were four, but we only saw three, so there may be a master of disguise left that someone could find. Nope, wasn't me, I have no tank They were in the mushroom tank, above the sps tank, right side.
+SChrisEV
You should see the new fish I bought, heard about it someplace... so I ran down to purchase it before anyone else could! Now how to care for it?
