Salty_Smash
I am selling my salt water fish tank. New priorities at home have created less time to devote. You get everything: tanks, stand, equipment, water, rocks, sand, and all living creatures contained therein. I have had this tank in continuous use for the last 5 years. Sand beds are fully established and as such my nitrate, etc. cycles are far less severe than new tanks. Upper tank is a 12 gallon Eclipse acrylic (I chose acrylic for the bowed face but also have kept Mantis shrimp almost exclusively for many years). Bottom tank is a modified 10 gallon, used as a refugium with deep sand bed, with a built in overflow filtration system. The bottom tank contains a small pump that moves water up into a side hanging mangrove refugium and then back into the main tank. Three Koralia pumps move water in top tank and a Red Sea WaveMaster Pro manages their flow. Original Eclipse hood replaced with a 96W Actinic Coralife Light (also a second full lighting setup included). Bak Pak 2 Protein skimmer on the smaller bottom refugium helps keep tank healthy. All hardware is in good working order as I maintain regularly. Current residents include: 1 coral banded shrimp now about 2 years old (20+ molts & counting), 1 turbo snail, about a thousand tiny star fishes, and another thousand tiny little chitons. I have three 5 gallon jugs (included) to remove most of the water from the tanks for easy transport. I will help you dismantle, but loading, transport, and reassembly is your responsibility. Salty_Smash
It seems to me that I may be asking too much...based on the lack of interest so far. Because this forum is about education and helping others, would anyone be willing to just lay it all out and set me straight as to what I should really be asking? I though less than %50 of paid was ok, but I really don't know. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated!
victoly
It's more due to the fact that most people here already have setups, so your target market is upgraders and first timers ( not too many of those on here). You have to deeply discount or part out IMO. If you don't have bites, keep dropping the price. +KimP
Do you have it listed on craigslist? Many more people looking for their first set up on there.
Salty_Smash
Victoly, thanks for the feedback. I'll keep dropping the price and see if anyone bites. I was hoping the two light hoods (one of them new in the box) might spur interest. I'm just afraid to start parting out as I figure this will take much longer to liquidate and in the end I'll be left with a bunch of stuff no one wants. Kim, yep, I listed on Craigslist and have only had a two people interested in mangroves and rocks. I tried dropping the price on there and will no start doing that here as well. So how about $500? Any takers?

Teresa
You might have more interest after the August meeting on nano biotopes I also think craigslist is your best bet for selling everything together. Otherwise, many of your items will sell fast on this forum if you part out (power heads, wave master pro, etc).

Salty_Smash
After a dismal response from the "parts" section - here's the new deal: Best offer for the FULL system (you get everything listed above) received by Friday 08-24-12 6:00pm Central gets everything. Right now, there are no offers. I will literally take the best offer and if that is $20, then so be it.
