Robb in Austin
Has anyone seen the clear, 1/4" opening, netting/screen material locally? I know BRS sells it but I was hoping to get it in person if possible.
JamesL
Do you want to make me some screen tops to? I have been thinking about doing the same thing to get rid of my glass tops.
+C Lo Slice
I searched extensively a couple of months ago. BRS is literally the only place I've seen it.
mFrame
I made mine last year. You can find "bird netting" at Home Depot and Lowes in the garden section, along with the screening pieces you'll need. The nice thing about the bird netting is that it is black and hides very well on the top of the tank rather than reflecting like the white material from BRS. Opt for the smaller weave (1/4" I think) versus the larger (1/2"). The 1/2" holes are large enough for fish to squeeze through.
Robb in Austin
Mike, do you find the black blocks any light?
AquaJohn
it is also on ebay. fairly cheep to get the clear stuff you have to order it in bulk. And the seller on ebay will cut it to anysize you want.
Robb in Austin
I just went with the black. I'll prolly have some left over if others need it.

mFrame
Mike, do you find the black blocks any light? Nothing significant. It does get warm to the touch under MH though (black absorbs heat).
