Derek
When I was doing a water change yesterday I noticed that a lot of flies were hanging around on the underside of my lighting fixture. They were also "bathing" in my tank. Does anyone know of a good fly deterrent that would be fish / coral friendly?
AquaJohn
I know it sounds crazy but a large ziplock bag 3/4 full of tap water just hang it close to where you want to keep the flys away. Its an OOOOOLLLLLDDDDDD school thing that works for some or is it just an old wives tale . definatly cheep to try tho.

Rudy's still does it, but I've never been able to get an explanation of how it works.

George Monnat Jr
http://www.snopes.co.../wild/flies.asp That seems to support that indoors bags are a bad idea.
cMidd
A couple of my fish will eat flies/gnats that get into the tank o.O haha
FarmerTy
How about one of those flypaper rolls you get a home depot?
Derek
Flypaper might be an option. I guess it does count as cheap food. My orange shoulder tang seems to love them. I keep waiting for my marine betta to go after one.
