+JoseZ
Is there an alternative way to cover the top of a tank besides glass tops to keep fish from jumping out? I've been told that glass tops create more heat which is why I ask. I'm looking to get a jawfish and was wondering what other ways work/worked for you. Thanks! JasonJones
A lot of people you window screening. You can buy it at any of the big box stores or bulk reef supply has some online.
Timfish
+1 on the screen. Glass or acrylic covers will reduce the evaporative cooling that helps get rid of excess heat. This may or may not be an issue depending on how you have your tank set up. Is your temp. running high in the summer ( >82 )?
+JoseZ
Will that not block too much light out? I will definately look into that though. Thanks!

Juiceman
I have a big roll of extra netting/mesh that was used for keeping fish from commiting suicide by jumping out that I got for free. PM me know if you want some.
+JoseZ
The thing about the egg crate is that a buddy of mine use it and believe or not the same wrasse still managed to jump out numerous times. Fortunate enough he was able to find him in time, for a while at least.

mFrame
I have screens with netting on both my tanks. Don't use screen material, use something like this http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/clear-1-4-screen-netting-7-x-3.html (I prefer the 1/4" size, my mystery wrasse made it out through the 1/2" size so I replaced it). I also prefer the clear plastic versus the black "bird net" you can find at Home Depot or Lowe's. The black stuff gets hot to the touch under lighting.
