mFrame
Several weeks ago Tim and I met for coffee and talked about business, ARC, and life. It was a gorgeous day (though I really should have had a hat on since Tim had the seat in the shade), and I greatly enjoyed the conversation. During the course of which, Tim said that he wanted to do something to support ARC in addition to being a sponsor. Tim's business and ARC Sponsor, Fishy Stuff (http://www.austinree...26-fishy-stuff/), is one of Austin's oldest and most experienced reef aquarium services. He told me that he wanted to do something additional to promote the reefing community in Austin and that he felt that contributing to ARC was a great way to do that. He asked if it would be okay if he donated funds to the club to be used for the benefit of it and its members. I was humbled by his donation. I will continue to plan some significant things with the club in 2012 to try and justify this gesture. Along with our normal meetings and frag swaps we will be having special guest speakers coming in to discuss topics that matter to ARC members. With Tim's assistance we have lined up a prominent Veterinarian, a fish specialist, to speak at our May meeting. I hope to make many more such announcement in the coming months. Back to the subject at hand. Tim is not the kind of guy who seeks attention. He's friendly and kind and goes out of his way to share his experience and knowledge with anyone who asks. He is a great asset to the club, and I'd like to take a moment to recognize him for all he does. As a special thank you, you may notice that Tim carries a special ARC badge now that looks like this. Thanks again Tim, ARC appreciates you.

Timfish
Well, thank you all very much! (I guess I have to start saying nice things to my cats about ya'all now. ) Honestly I think the kudo's need to go to Andrew Cambell for setting up a website that's very friendly to tha average aquarist as well as advanced and Mike Frame for continuing his legacy. It seems like kudos also need to go to the moderators and meeting coordinator, James, Robb and Dave. I get to sit on my couch with a beer and my laptop BSing with fellow hobbyests, they have to do the work of maintaining ARC and keeping an eye on what I say! I've posted this before and I'm glad to repeat it here. ARC is a excellent resource for the local hobbyests, it makes available to the new and experienced aquarist a tremendous experience base that is beyond the capabilities of a single individual. I am looking forward to hearing Dr. Miller in May. I always found him very intersting and informative and haven't had the chance to talk with him since he retired. He's has extensive experience with exotics and has worked with several of the zoos here in Texas. I feel I do need to clarify even though he has taken courses specificly for fish he does not consider himself a specialist on fish (sorry about not conveying point in our conversation Mike). Once again, thank you all and thank you Andrew and Mike.
