scubasteve92
Well i just got home and was feeding my aquarium and noticed something weird about one of my acans. Is this normal?? It is a bubble with like white stringy stuff in it. Google was no help.... or I suck at searching stuff (probably choice B)
Brooks
Not entirely sure. It could be a bubble from your Acans being fully inflated. What you might be seeing inside is food? Just a thought. If it is attached to the Acan, that is what I assume it would be; a bubble in the tissue due to full inflation.

scubasteve92
well, it isnt the food. I had just feed them and then once they receded in I saw the bubble. There is one on each side and are simi-clear with something in it? They are starting to deflate as the acans are starting to inflate. Brooks
I think my assumption was right. They are able to control what parts are inflated and deflated (by some freak-of-nature type of thing). If you can, though, just for reassurance, try and take a clearer picture!
scubasteve92
lol, yeah i can just went into panic mode and uploaded a crappy droid pic
JamesL
I think Brooks has it right. It looks like part of the acan. Corals can extend themselves to attack other corals. And by extending, I mean basically spit out their intestines to consume other things (the white stringy stuff).
jestep
It could be a tunicate. I found a whiteish clear one in some of my live rock. It is now about 3 inches long.
scubasteve92
The bubbles are part of the coral and have gone way down. The acans are red and the bubble was almost clear with a red tint. They seem to be very happy, but i will keep an eye on them.
