+olaggie01
I don't have access to a sewing machine but I've seen people make filter socks before. I think there was a thread on MAAST about it. Anyways, if anyone has access to a sewing machine and wouldn't mind helping me out, I'd appreciate it. I would supply the material of course. subsea
I use white cotton socks, size 9.
+olaggie01
Thanks. Unfortunately I need a 7" filter sock. I guess I could staple a couple of socks together.
subsea
I use a real sock as a filter. On my 1" return line I use a rubberband to secure sock onto pipe in sump. I throw the sock away after two weeks.
+Jakedoza
I quit using my filter sock.... not sure how you would make one though.. They are not that expensive.. 12bucks I think at RCA.
+olaggie01
They aren't expensive until you need 6 or more of them. I like to rotate them and don't like to wash them seperately. They aren't that hard to make, all you need is some felt and a foot or so of plastic. There is a blue print online so that you can follow the pattern. 99taws6
Do you have a link to the blueprint with the plastic ring?
+olaggie01
Well, now I can't find it on MAAST. Essentially they took some felt from a fabric store, cut it into the shape of a sock and took some bendable plastic (not sure what) and sowed the plastic onto the fabric. Pretty simple really (if you have a sewing machine)
