AquaJohn
last week I checked my phospates and they were at 2 or a bit more. I added a reactor with rowaphos and a 30 gal water change. they are now around .64 still high but way better, How do you know when its time to change out the media in the reactor ? I am also running carbon and its about 150 gal total water volume.
Juiceman
Rowaphos lasts a while from what I understand, just check your levels every now and again, and once they start to rise again, switch it out. My HC GFO lasts about a month usually.
Robb in Austin
You might want to change it now. The GFO can only hold so much and you don't want it releasing it back into the system. Once it's down, which it is, it will last longer. IIRC, the rule of thumb is every 2-4 weeks.
AquaJohn
thanks. It dropped fast from 2 down to 1 then slowed from 1 to .63 so figured it was probly time to change it out.
Juiceman
yeah Robb is right, fresh media time! I didn't factor that it had already brought it down alot.
