JamesL
Can anyone recommend a reliable phosphate test kit? Thanks, -Cindy- This is the one I got from Dr. F&S: Red Sea Phosphate Test Kit It works ok, though I don't have anything to compare it to in terms of reliability. cmanning
Well, we purchase a Seachem phosphate test kit. It does come w/ reference solution in this kit. I definitely need to lower phosphates. I'm wondering besides the skimming, cutting back on the feeding, and water changes. What else I could do to lower PO4. Still researching on the phosban vs. phosguard. From what I've read on articles and other forums aluminum oxide is used to bind the phosphates---that's what phosguard has in it. I want to stay away from any chemical removal as much possible. Edited August 8, 2007 by cmanning
Beretta
Look for the ones that use an iron compound to bind the phosphate. I think phosban uses iron. I've used phosguard in the past, and it seems that it doesn't work very well.
