Robb in Austin
Current list: Two Clarkii Sailfin tang 1 green chromis 6 line lawnmower tailspot I want a royal gramma, or maybe a bicolor dottyback(mean enough to deal with the female Clarki), and something else or two. I tried another Lamarck's female but the clown beat her down and she died this am. I'd like something pretty, hardy, and able to defend itself against the clown. I was thinking a flame angel but worry about it nipping my clams or other corals. Same for an Eibli angel. I was thinking a coris or another type of wrasse but worry about them jumping. Any ideas? innate1
Royal Gramma is a good choice. Pretty but can be mean.

innate1
I love flame angels. I've had a couple through the years and they were model tank citizens.
Timfish
I would go with 3 Royal Grammas, They're sequencial like the clowns but the terminal phase is male with the grammas. You'll end up with a male about 4 inches long and two females around 2 1/2 - 3. They're very interactive and the two females will establish separate territories. They're also quick to hide in the rocks so the larger fish won't be able to get to them. Most don't get as aggressive as the 6 line or a psuedochromis. mFrame
I'd kill the clarkii's, mine made reaching into my tank a nightmare.
Robb in Austin
They are now my only original fish, and they're beautiful, so I can't but every time she nips me I think about it.
