Benny
So I was doing a water change and sucking some junk off the rock my hammer coral is on. Well I got too close and sucked it partially and pulled some flesh loose, Only a couple arms are inflated on the branch. Should I trash it? Or will it make a recovery? Seems to have deflated most of the arms... First large mistake I have made! Doh!
pbnj
Whatever's still attached to the skeleton will recover.
Pailines
I wouldn't give the verdict so quickly, but observer it for a few days, see if it makes a comeback. But be on alert for a possibly defense mechanism from the hammer.
Benny
This happened a few days ago. I am actually out of town now so I cant check on it. Was waiting till I got back to do anything. I have my roommate taking water to RCA for testing while I am gone, everything is good across the board. And he told me in a text that it is looking better. Hasty water changes no more! lol. Benny
Well got a picture text this afternoon, looks great! Almost looks as though some of the arms split at the tips. Was about 70% its size before my blunder. So I expect a full recovery. Guess it looked like more flesh than it was that got sucked up.
