Sherita
These guys were hitch hikers on some live rock I bought a while back. They are bright! There, maybe that fixed the picture issue.

FarmerTy
They look like my lunar eclipse palys. I'll try to post a pic sometime this weekend of them. Those are sweet!

stoneroller
Actually I'd like to see some pics of those suckers closed up. Do they have stripes?
Sherita
Mason, I originally thought zoas, but they are too big, so they have to be palys. These guys are big, about the size of a nickle when fully opened up. Kevin, I will try to get you a pic of them closed up, might take a bit since they are really happy and rarely roll up into a snotball. I haven't noticed any stripes on them, but then again, i wasn't looking for stripes either, LOL. Can you tell me again what the name of that little frag is that I got from you, the one with the little crescent shaped mouths? It's doing great, as is the JCigar. Jeeper, they are not the same as the pictures I have seen of lunar eclipse. I am thinking this is some kind of morph of a lunar eclipse. I have lots of weird morps going on right now, like the ice blue and purple zoas that morphed from my tubs blues, and the baby blue/pale green that has morphed from my eagle eyes. I like it when unusual stuff shows up I think I am gonna have some really neat stuff for the next swap.

Sherita
The mystic monti Those polyps should close up at night Somebody forgot to tell them Maybe they are closing after I go to bed, I will stay up tonite and see (peeping tom, or would that be peeping Sherita?)
FarmerTy
Yeah, does look like a morph on 2nd look. The mouths are green, though the rest look on par with the lunar eclipse.
Sherita
JeeperTy, it's more than just the green mouths. There is the green mouth, then a bright purple ring, then a bright pink ring, and the skirts are kinda greenish-pink. These things light up under my actnics and moonlights with an unreal intensity. They are by far the brightest thing in my tank. It's either a far out lunar eclipse morph, or something else entirely. I wanna give them a name so bad, but I need to make sure someone else hasn't already done it.
+etannert
They look like People Eater Palys to me. Don't know if I've ever seen them in orange, or if there's a name for them, I just know I want some!!
stoneroller
If they have stripes when closed up, that'll be the second indication that they are people eaters ie Zoanthus gigantus (technically not a paly). http://zoaid.com/ind...&g2_itemId=2459 They remind me of some polyps called campfires but the campfires have a green circular area around the green mouth that I don't see in Sherita's. Here's an old pic of some lunars from ATL.
Sherita
Ok, so they wouldn't close up tonite. So, I gently poked one and......there are no stripes on the outside of that polyp. Now we are back again to "name that polyp", LOL.
FarmerTy
Yeah, they def fluoresce in actinics so they got something else to them. My lunars def don't do that. They're pretty sweet. -Ty
