ballistic.reefer
so ive been in this hobby for about a year now. ive spent a ridiculous amount of money, learned many expensive mistakes and lessons, and most importantly have met so many of y'all with great insight. ive gone from a 12g nanocube, to a 20g long, to a 40g breeder, to a 34g solana, and now ive finally found the tank that will make me happy...a rimless reef ready 57g oceanic illuminata. i am a very impatient person, but one thing this hobby has taught me is slow and steady will always and i mean always win the race, plus save you a butt lot of money . this will be a primarily sps dominant tank with an acan garden. as colorful as can be. So here we go, lets hope i do it right this time around and can finally have a tank that is worth to show and can impress some of yall...! equipment: 57g oceanic illuminata/stand (thanks rca) 15g precision marine sump 125 redline skimmer tlf phosban reactor w/ maxijet 400 mag 7 for return jbj ato jbj nanoglo for refugium tunze nano wavebox vortech ecosmart mp10w 2x150w mh fixture w/ 4 39" t5ho (ati bulbs (2x blue plus, 1x aqua special blue, 1x purple plus) more to come later this weekend. adding the water and then some carib aragalive sand and live rock later next week. +Eckreef
Looks great! You will really enjoy that illuminata tank. The skimmer will work better if you take the longhorn sticker off....

JasonJones
Tank looks really good and the equipment list sounds perfect. What MH bulbs are you going to be running? I would consider running 3 blue+ and 1 purple since your halides will provide plenty of white light.
ballistic.reefer
okay so today has been a long day. i finally got a chance to throw some water in the tank and get it cycling. got my light fixture up and its looking good. i cant wait for everything to come around. although i did run into a little problem today, it seems as the circuit for my room keeps tripping and i cant figure out why. it happened twice and now my roommate is starting to trip worse than the braker switch. so i guess ill have to fix it next time he is out of the house. blahh, once i get this fixed it should be smooth sailing from here on out. well below are the pics of the current tank. let me know what ya think and what i should fix if any. ballistic.reefer
No ato? jbj auto top off , just havent gotten it set up yet. Tank looks really good and the equipment list sounds perfect. What MH bulbs are you going to be running? I would consider running 3 blue+ and 1 purple since your halides will provide plenty of white light. yeah i realized that when i put it in. ill end up switching to another blue plus very soon and Im currently using the 150w 14k mh bulbs that came in the fixture but over time i will end up switching to either the 150w phoenix or reeflux 14k.
