William and Pegine
It is midnight and I made a final check of the house and discovered a small leak in the bottom left corner of my 90g tank. I added some silicone to the outside, hopefully that will slow it down until in the morning. From there I sent Sea Clearly to see what they can do. How long does it take a trickle to turn into a flood? I guess I'll have my answer in the morning We just added a tunze nano wave maker about a month ago, coincidence? Suggestions? I know I have to break the tank down and reseal, or replace it. This sucks because we finally got everything where we wanted it.
Robb in Austin
If you have a way of taking it down tonight, I'd do it just to avoid a catastrophic failure at 0400. Sorry to hear the bad news.
William and Pegine
Yuppers. Just looked on the backside of the tank and I have salt creep coming out of the seams on the left half of the the tank. I don't need this at 12:22am. I hope sea clearly calls back soon. Robb in Austin
If you don't have storage, hit the local walmart for rubbermaid tubs. I wouldnt wait on SC to call back. If you can spread out the livestock amongst your other tanks, I'd do that, then drain the main tank. I'd worry about the rock least of all. William and Pegine
I have all the critters and corals in other tanks. I drained almost all of the water, just some substrate and a little water left. I don't have the energy left to mess with it. I hope I reduce the pressure on the leak enough that it will hold until later this morning...

Robb in Austin
What kind of tank is it? How old? Did you buy it new? Warranty issue maybe/hopefully? Ugh, I dread hearing of tank failures and hope I never have to deal with one(although I know I probably will one day).

Elizzy
This happened to me when I had my 55 gallon...heard water running at 3am. Unfortunately, I was also in a cast and had to use crutches. (Seriously, that's a great story.) I put the fish in one of those plastic storage containers with air and heater - got new tank the next day. (Removed sealant from old tank, resealed it, it still wanted to leak...) Hope yours turned out ok. -e
