mbender04
So since I've had my tank all I've had in it are soft corals but I have a favia on its way and know that it has sweeper tentacles. So my question is exactly how far away from other corals am I supposed to keep it? How close can I get away with? I only have a 29 gallon tank. JamesL
Generally favia's do not have long sweeper tentacles (compared to something like Galaxia whose sweepers can get inches in length). So basically you should be able to place it near other corals (say within a inch or two), but I would just keep an eye on it once you put it in. Gonzobob
As James says favie aren't usually as agressive as some other corals. Once you've placed the coral keep a close eye on it's neighbors for a few days. (in particular to favia and other night feeders check a hour after lights out). If you notice a change in behavior in the nearby corals you'll want to move the new addition.
JamesR
I have found favia's to not be very aggressive. They respond well to feeding and I have found them to grow faster. I feed mine ground up raw shrimp and they accept it eagerly.
