absolut_racer
After looking at various resources, I can't decide what type of anemone this is e.g. bubble tip, ritteri, etc. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
NonSequitur
My guess would be bubble tip, since the mouth and tentacles look a lot like my bubble tip anemones, but I'm far from an expert.
JamesL
I am leaning towards bubble tip also.
Gonzobob
That would be my vote. I like the color.
Derry
My only semi-educated opinion is a BTA as well, but have you tried floating this on MAAST? There are a couple of hard-core anemone people over there who are great at ID'ing these guys.
Gonzobob
Roger that, also the reef central Anemones and Clownfish thread.
Derek
The lines on the oral disk make me think it is a long tentacle that isn't fully extended. Are there bumps on the underside of the oral disk?
mFrame
I'd say bta as well, great color!
absolut_racer
Derek, there are no bumps present underneath the oral disk. Thanks everyone for your input as well as advice on posting on specific anemone forums! I think identifying my tank inhabitants will allow me to provide better care... Robb in Austin
I think identifying my tank inhabitants will allow me to provide better care... Probably the single most profound thing ever "spoken" here. You rock!
