Zarathustra2
I frequently (once a week or so) spot feed my zoos. Cyclops are great for this. In the larger paly's they will even take the brine shrimp in. When i have fed and when i have not I have noticed a huge difference in growth rates. polarbear
Zarathustra2, do you feed every little zoa? I didnt know if they are connected meaning if you feed some they all benifit or if they all have to be feed.

I didnt know if they are connected meaning if you feed some they all benifit or if they all have to be feed. If attached, they should all be able to share nutrition, of course more polyps fed means more food generally. I feed phyto and rotifers for the filter feeders and such, my zoas get some and it seems to be plenty for them.
Rjohn
I feed the ones that close up if they catch a mysis or brine shrimp, such as gold palys. If they don't, they are on their own.
Zarathustra2
I just baste them in a cloud of plankton. I generally go with Calfo's thing of "if they have a stomach they are suppossed to eat." But as Mark says above, they are generally OK without it. I've never had a colony die because they haven't been fed but like I said I notice more vigorous growth when i do feed them.
