Christian
I just put a montipora cap into my fish tank and their is a lot of strigie wave like things coming off of it like you would see when a leather coral sheds. Is this supose to happen normaly or is this a bad thing?

Christian
Ok ya I brought the coral home and it spent almost 24 hours in a bag.
pbnj
Sliming occurs for one of two reasons: 1) coral is expulsing waste 2) coral is excreting a mucus coating to trap floating food particulates and then it ingests the entire coating. If you just added the coral to the tank, it's probably expulsing waste.
