Rjohn
Anything that brings in tax money and tourist dollars should be welcomed.
pbnj
Looks like it will be located south of 1431, east of Parmer Ln and west of Raley Rd. Main entrance will be on 1431.
chrisfowler99
Hmm...less than 15 minutes from home. If it's any good I'll have season passes. Hope it doesn't kill traffic in the area, though.
doktorstick
I'm curious about where the water is going to come from. I know they are more efficient in water reclamation than most, but if I can't water my yard anytime I want... Personally I'm not a fan of waterparks. It's about 5 minutes from me. NIMBY. It's going to kill me heading down toward 183A.
pbnj
Water will come from Lake Travis and will be recycled. According to the developers, the waterpark will consume significantly less water than if the land was used for private residences. Most of the people objecting to the waterpark seem to be those living along 1431, which seems like a traffic nightmare, as well as those living in the areas that back up to the southeast end of the proposed park. JamesL
They were talking about this new park being open year round... but thinking about it now, I wonder if they mean like the Christmas thingy they do in the New Branfeuls one.... pbnj
I think I read that some of the rides and other activities would remain open as well.

mFrame
I used to live in Cedar Park, then specifically at Parmer and 1431. Traffic is already a nightmare and will only get worse. Not to be a conspiracy theorist, but I strongly bet that the CTMA (toll roads) had a lot to do with this decision as it will greatly increase their revenue. Five years ago you could use Parmer as an alternative to 183, they have effectively killed that.
+olaggie01
Guess I won't be riding my bike South of 1431 on Parmer anymore. It's already a bad idea, and this just makes it worse.
