You can't plan clumsy, it just comes when it comes!

  2. Bought a 800 watt for my 210-gal and it is awesome! Very solid construction and was nice that I didn't have to pay for the onboard controller and could just buy the heater element and control with the Apex.
  3. Makes you think again the next time you suck on that tube to start the siphon...
  4. Woohoo Jeremy! Can you raise an Achilles for me and let me buy it too?
  5. Most know I haven't changed my water in 3 years. I use a CaRX, GFO, carbon, and biopellets and skim heavily. I dose the occasional amino acids and iodine and thats pretty much it. I run a heavy bioload and my tank is predominantly SPS. I have not suffered any symptoms of accumulation of anything toxic so far but who knows if my tank is a ticking timebomb. I'll take the risk in light of my despise of water changes. But just to stick to the original post, I use Coralife because RCA gets it cheap. :-)
  6. Copperband butterfly worked like a charm but only works if you find one that made it through QT and eating already, and that's almost like winning the lottery.
  7. Tonights forecast was cloudy with a slight chance of cyano showers!
  8. Quick update: I've moved on from stage 1, diatoms... to... Hooray, stage 2, cyano! We're getting there. I'm actually happy it showed it, all part of the maturation process after a cycle. Took some top down shots while I was moving coral around the other day. Nothing aquascaped just yet. Just finding a spot for everything as I shut down the old tank. Here's my purple stylo that made it without any issues. Also replaced out my Iwaki for a giant Reeflo pump. Went from 1,300 gph to 5,550 gph! Luckily the manifold distributes all of that flow to my other reactors so my DT doesn't get blasted. I was smiling on the inside when I noticed the Austin Aquarium uses the same return pump I use. STN is only being observed in a couple of SPS now and I think that is residual stress from the low alk (4 dKh... yikes!) and the non-stable temps since I was still in between both tanks. I have now officially pulled the temperature control for the old tank and its on the new tank now since most of my livestock is in that one. Shutdown to the old tank is even more imminent now!
  9. Hello ARC, Got a new heater and getting rid of my undersized heater. I finally outgrew its 160 gal rating. First $15 gets it. Thanks! -Ty
  10. The orange fungia company haven't made their public offering yet. I've heard rumors of a Fall 2014 timeline, just before the holidays!
  11. Don't worry, I have a very aggressive business model where I buy out the new upstart fungia companies before they disrupt my business! Haha! Prepare to be acquired into the global JeeperTy corporation!

Looking good bud! I may recognize one or two corals in those pics!
  13. That snowstorm from the sand will make the first bit of cloudiness look like nothing!
  14. Great looking tank! Welcome and congrats on stepping out of your lurker cave! Great documentation by the way! It's like I was reading a tank of the month bio. -Ty
  15. Bright orange with a green base. Great contrast if you can get it to fully color up.
  16. We all want that fresh start clean feel. I understand, I cleaned the heck out of my skimmer as well.
  17. I think you are safe to just remove it and either toss or peroxide dip. I doubt it has spread already in a week's time. No problem sir.
