Downright dangerous! I can barely see over that stand!
  2. Oops, I meant RCA in my previous post... for some reason I put down ARC.

You forget my career, I only help acquire and sell, and help with the logistics of the move, not actually move! [emoji5]
  4. I ate plastic once... not so tasty. I vowed never to go back to McDonald's again. [emoji33]
  5. I believe he has a big daddy skimz unit for the skimmer.
  6. If I knew how tasty I was to the rest of the world, as a crab, I'd always be looking out!
  7. Sorry Vietspride, I cheated. I already knew his left side was the stable side when we were looking at it last at his house.

It's because of my more compact and efficient body design Reburn. It takes less time for impulses and brain signals to go from my brain to my fingers than it would in your body.

If you can't find any, perhaps pick up some cheap daylight ones at Home Depot to test? I think they average $11.
  10. I've found that once acclimated to tank life, they are one of the hardiest SPS I have. If it's a new mariculture piece, then I would worry about the sensitivity of the piece as they tolerate very little. My echinata has been through it all and still chugging along. Heck, it was one of two corals that actually looked better when I had the high salinity and high nitrate debacle. I believe ARC has mariculture pieces but they've been grown out in their own grow out tanks prior for sale. Think of them as not just brand new to the reef tank world, but more 1st generation as they have been acclimated some already.
  11. In case people were wondering, I'm the oompa loompa on the left. [emoji14]
  12. Ohh, I gotcha Bpb. Thanks for the clarification. I'll stay out of you far, far east Austin folks swapping business! [emoji12]
  13. Awesome! When's the next water change scheduled? I'm sure that water is coming out real slow right now with the cold weather. [emoji30]
  14. Oh good, you already got a tester coral. The alk swing might tick it off but then again, it's a cap coral... they put up with a lot and keep on going. How's the TDS for your RO/DI? Zero coming out of the DI now?
  15. Awesome! I'm sure it's been exciting to see the tank rebound some! Let's get that alk in line and start stuffing some tester SPS in there to test it out. Then we'll start talking about the fun expensive stuff like CaRX's and other reactors! Woohoo!
  16. Thanks for the thorough reviews of so many online vendors Sam! I wish I could have triple-liked that post! Oh, and thank you for being the one to collect all the nice goodies so I can steal them from you when they grow out. [emoji14]
  17. I'm always curious in seeing the online pics versus the received frags if you guys get bored and want to post them. [emoji4]
  18. Perhaps use the two drilled holes for the herbie and then just run the return flow behind the tank and over the back of the glass?
  19. I'd say switch it... even leave some rocks in with the skimmer chamber and run the chaeto and whatever other rocks in the 2nd. You'll probably need a stand for the skimmer but at least from this point on, stable water line for the skimmer so you don't have to deal with overflows anymore.
  20. I would have accepted any type of large angel for Reburn. Now you got to deal with calling him a whale. [emoji87]
  21. You tell me. . . That's the homework.Ckyuv learns best through analogies: Ty is to Muggsy Bogues as Reburn is to Shaquille O'neal.
  22. Yes, but now I'm feeling like just do 15 ml of muriatic acid and hopefully that gets us down to somewhere in the 6-7 dKh range for the new water and then two more water changes should do it. I'm surprised your Ca and Mg jumped that much with just one water change... more so your Ca. That Red Sea pro coral salt is I guess just supersaturated with the foundation elements. Well I guess we may not need to dose the Ca and Mg elements individually at all at this time. That's great that you have them individually to dose now as you will need to tweak over time once you go the CaRX route down the line. How are the remainder of the corals looking? Fish?
