  1. And 8 days after being reunited with their anemone... they're at it again. FTS with the middle light off. I really liked that clam but after getting rid of it, the middle is so much more open again. It really emphasizes that chasm in the middle of my tank.
  2. Can't go wrong with NLS and mysis. Hand feeding the LPS! We'll no wonder your LPS are getting so fat! Lol! I forgot how tiny cyclopeeze is until I fed some the other day. Only two of the smaller fishes even noticed it. I think my SPS and LPS noticed it though!
  3. Oh the day we celebrate phosphate popping back up in our systems... [emoji14]. Hilarious! Perhaps you weren't feeding your tank enough? One thing we have to think about is once we start employing all these great tools for removing nutrients is to then feed the heck out of the tank. I think most would be amazed at how much food actually goes into my tank. Heavy import, heavy export... happy corals. [emoji16]
  4. Any chance you were overskimming in the first place Bpb? That's great to hear your corals are much improving!
  5. Reverse build threads! That's awesome! Don't be surprised if you don't see the leopard wrasse for weeks upon introduction. They are odd little fishes and take some time to adjust to a new tank and it's light cycle.
  6. Any chance you could post your temp graph from apex fusion? If your tank is warming up at night with only your sump light on... I find that odd unless you have absolutely no circulation in the stand where the sump is. I use $10 clip-on Walmart fans. Been working well for 4 years now... had to replace 1-2 in that timeframe.
  7. Mike, at $250, you'd already be at free shipping. You could just order by yourself unless you were just trying to be helpful.
  8. Just tracking the new mariculture... I'm waiting for it to darken up a bit and acclimate to my tank before I start moving it up to higher par.
  9. Purple stylo ORA Jeremy's Monti Kryptonite candy cane Screaming green birdsnest
  10. Never cross the road without looking BOTH ways!! I still owe ya that beer, so I'll figure something out. Great tip! I should have said "Tipping is not a city in China" but my sense of humor apparently already went to sleep.
  11. There is just a good bit of "stuff" left on the rock, all dead but a bit worried about how it will affect the tank if placed in as is. Consider it some extra material to produce ammonia so you can cycle the rock appropriately.
  12. I know you did, I followed your lead based on our conversation. So you had no real spike? When you say in your new sump, I assume before it was on your system?? How long did it take before it was "ready". Couple pieces I got are way to big for my sump. Oh yeah, I forgot we had that conversation. Sometimes I talk too much reef for my own good. There definitely was a spike so I wouldn't recommend it in your current system. I left it for about a month but I wasn't in a rush. I think it was probably good around 2.5 weeks if I remember right. One of the hindsight things that I think about when I upgraded was to not mess with the old system at all during the upgrade. If it's going good... don't mess with it. Upgrade entirely without touching your old system... especially if you're able to push it across the room. That way you don't compromise the health of the fish and coral prior to moving them.
  13. I'd just dry the rock out and kill the GSP. Either that or take it to a LFS and trade them a rock of equal size for yours. I'm sure most would be glad to do that.
  14. I bought the same rock and all I did was put it in my new sump, add some saltwater, a circulation pump, and let it start curing. I pulled water from my old tank into the new sump. I also added a couple of "seeded" live rock from my old tank and laid them on the new rock to seed it.
  15. Hope you had a reefing filled birthday with lots of ricordias and zoas! -Ty
  16. I just usually hook it up like normal and just run the effluent into a bucket for the first minute.
  17. Got a bucket and a pump for you Jose if you don't mind getting it back to me before Friday.
  18. The colonies mentioned are all on top of the left rock structure. To give scale, the purple stylo is about 10-12" across. PM me if you have any interest and we can work out a price.
  19. How big are you looking for? I have a purple stylo, screaming green birdsnest, ORA Jeremy's digitata, and kyptonite candy canes I may be willing to part with for the right price.
  20. They get tossed around pretty good but you're right, no actual direct flow. Funny thing though, once my clowns made it back in the tank, the tentacles got shorter again. Hopefully, it'll continue this trend.
  21. Is that the warp drive engine from the Enterprise? Call I dial a lifeline and call Levar Burton?
  22. Wait, is it an arc reactor now?
  23. I've rerouted the MHs to supply the 10,000 gigawatts needed to fire it up! Who's coming with me?
  24. Get out of my head! All I got to say is it looked all downhill at first with my upgrade. The SPS were dying and I could see no end to it. Persevere fellas, it'll come full circle again and you'll have thriving SPS tanks again. [emoji106]
