  1. BTW, when you get all settled in the new house. I'm going to need some professional advice on my stand/hood framing and you look like the right guy to bug!
  2. Not 100% I follow, but the new tank will move to the new house, and I'll move the livestock from the existing tank to the new tank. If all goes as planned the existing tank will not ever see the new house. I'm happy to be upgrading to a large tank, but I will miss the existing, it's been a fun tank and overall a great experience, both building the stand, and keeping the tank/livestock. Great question Ty! I need to start a thread... looking for some help again. I', glad you emo-icon looks excited to help with the move! I must have clicked the wrong emoticon. The one I was looking for was watching everyone else move.
  3. I thought I saw that too but the picture quality and size make it hard to tell.
  4. Hey gang, I was chatting with a beer brewing friend of mine and somehow we got on the discussion of CO2 cylinders and safety. Do any of you that have CaRX's run CO2 monitors in the house? I think that would be a worthwhile investment the more and more I think about it. Especially considering I have a 20-lb cylinder under the tank. Here's what I found so far in a quick google search: http://www.roguehydro.com/blueprint-co2-monitor-bcm/?ref=lexity&_vs=google&_vm=productsearch&gclid=Cj0KEQjw7_mrBRDH4Y2UjLHEmfcBEiQA8OTHfzVkyPk-6zrukcbl_rc4UtcCEyP4K-JejvDOoGsik2YaAnNQ8P8HAQ http://www.co2meter.com/products/tim10-desktop-co2-temp-humidity-monitor?gclid=Cj0KEQjw7_mrBRDH4Y2UjLHEmfcBEiQA8OTHf-LEIsMNtoSZ4Uw92Qzq5Y9AR9cBrjgWaRz7xTopW0UaAsld8P8HAQ Anyways, just seeing if anybody has any input or uses one. The one with the humidity readings would be a nice bonus!
  5. That's your tank Mike? I couldn't tell by the pictures!
  6. I like that your priority is finishing up the tank versus packing! The stand and hood look great! When's the tank moving party!!!
  7. I might have a few polyps... A shoutout to Mike (Mframe) for making this possible and this guy for making all these polyps available:
  8. Thank you sir! He's doing his best for me!
  9. Hello handsome! Another emperor angelfish changing coloration update. Even more yellow and now the face is starting to go white.
  10. Check with Juiceman. I believe he has it from when Offroaddodge shut down his tank.

Welcome Dana! It's a good group of people on this club! I think you'll like it! Any pictures of your old system you can dig up and share?
  12. Yeah, that setup is ridiculous! That stand is a work of art!
  13. Now that your nitrates are much lower, why don't you just run some GFO to scrub the phosphates lower? They would keep you from having to do anymore water changes for the immediate future. Just a thought.
  14. Oh man, don't add anything else on my plate right now. I barely know which way is up! Time lapse photos? You coming to snap them every week with your fancy GoPro?
  15. I like the Skimz brand of skimmers. Cheaper in my opinion than most similarly rated but when you actually get the product in your hand, it feels and performs anything but cheap. Solid acrylic construction and thoughtful design. The pump is pretty quiet as well on my model. The aquamaxx skimmers have great reviews as well.
  16. I'll let the creative types design me a new avatar pic. I have no skills in that department.
  17. That is very interesting for sure. Once they are happy, they are definitely more resilient. I think that's what gets us during the upgrades. They get nailed by the less than ideal water conditions with a new tank and in there weakened states, even when all parameters line up... they have an ability to go south in health. That magic one-year mark gets me everytime. Nobody what's happening in the tank, at 1-year, especially if everything has been stable, my SPS collection just starts taking off!
  18. Quick updates: My Apex fried during one of our many storms we had the last month. I got a loaner head unit and used that in the interim but I should be getting my unit back this week. During that time, my alk had shot up while I was in between controllers. It went from 8.0 dKh to 10.5 dKh. Other than a loss of some color on some acros and one monti, everything seems largely unaffected. I'm pretty surprised by that as I am carbon dosing and usually the repercussion of running your alk above 8.0 dKh are burnt tips. I think my only saving grace is the ridiculous amount of food I feed my fish and corals. On that same note, my heal times on cut acros during the frag-a-thon is ridiculous. Most areas cut had healed in 2-3 days and by 6-10 days have already formed a new growth tip! I'm not sure if there is a direct correlation to the higher alk and growth rates, though many swear by it. For now, I'll just put it in the maybe it helps column. I may just leave the alk at 10.5 dKh and see what happens from here in the first official FarmerTy experiment! Otherwise, the tank looks like a hot mess with all the frags in it but those will be gone soon hopefully at C4.
  19. I'd bring them to C4. I've often found frags won't sell because of location. Sometimes it's not worth the drive for me down south to get a $15 frag. At least C4 will negate that issue since everyone will be there for the conference anyways. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  20. If you're talking about the fish skeletons, that was because of the marine velvet! I SWEAR!!! If you're talking the purple stylo skeletons, that was because of chemical warfare in the frag tank! If you're talking about... oh nevermind... presidential bid retracted!

Moderators are dropping like flies Richard! It'll be anarchy soon on the club!

  22. I already have the glasses so I'll just order "A touch of gray" and get that salt and pepper look to complete the package. Did I mention I might be running for president of ARC? Who's got a baby fish I can kiss? A starfish's hand that I can shake? My campaign slogan..."FarmerTy... let's give him a try!"
  23. Jeeperty was all about the halides but this new hip FarmerTy likes to roll with the new fads like LED lighting, growing a mustache, and naming your kids after random objects like Apples. TeslaTy? Emulsive, you've been reading the old build thread haven't you? Don't do it! It's just full of nonsense!
