  1. Bunch of nerds in this thread. It's a little late for me to add input but I was thinking stagnant water myself. Also a reason I wouldn't recommend shutting off/on reactors like that. Other reason being the GFO has a tendency to condense into a giant ball and not tumble as well.
  2. First off, I'd like to say congrats on the new tank Shawn. Second, I'd like to say that I've obviously taught you nothing as your tank is 240 gallons and not 240 liters. [emoji23] Very exciting new tank sir. I am happy to pass you along to Dan now and he'll be your problem... uh.... I mean he'll be your delight in working with to get this beast setup! [emoji4] All joking aside, I have a good feeling about how this tank is going to come out!
  3. You're a fishing natural Dan! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  4. Ummm, I'm going to have to report this post. We have two guys with no tanks chatting back and forth on the reef club. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  5. Nah, I'm annoying. He knows if he ignores me then I'll pop in the store and bug him in person. [emoji41]
  6. Silver bullet prostrata...Ice fire echinata... oh my!!!
  7. It was more me sobbing sadly at home than bringing bleached sticks to the frag swap!At least my bulb is still burning Brian! [emoji23]
  8. I had the best intentions though! Alright, I'll pull myself out of the mix and let the Apex do its job. I'll just stay out of the way... sigh
  9. From time to time, I like to make mistakes to help remind the club of errors they should avoid. I consider it my community service to the reef club. [emoji6] I left my right 400-watt halide on for 14 hrs last night. Luckily it's over the acros so I don't think any harm will come to anything... also the bulb is towards the end of its life span so it's only pushing 350 par at most towards the middle of the tank, whereas it was pushing 500-600 par when first installed. The usual photo period is 6 hrs so that's quite the departure from the normal light cycle but again, I don't forsee any issues. If there were softies there, I'm pretty sure they would have melted away by now.
  10. Really digging the Rea Sea Nitrate Pro kit. Also the Hannas are great. That's exactly what I use. Hanna's for alk and PO4 and Red Sea Pro kits for pretty much everything else. Top that off with a digital refractometer and you pretty much have my testing setup right there.
  11. Trap is all yours sir. I just got it back too.
  12. I got a fish trap sir if you need it! Catch the labouti and put him in QT and then work on the other wrasse when it feels brave enough to come out. Then throw that one in my tank. [emoji6]
  13. That's awesome! Don't strip the phosphates too fast! You can have some negative effects of that too! I'd go half the recommended amount in the reactor and then slowly ramp up!
  14. What people are you talking about? I'm an LED man these days! You got fantastic growth it looks like on those montis and purple stylo!
  15. Looking good buddy! Did you change out your lighting from 6 months to 1 year?
  16. Congrats bud! It's almost time!!! I would have gone all softie and LPS until the new baby turned 3. Having SPS is like having another baby! I bought the reef angel cable and had Victoly modify it for the Apex. Worked well. The cable was of high quality too.
  17. I run mine via my Apex. Maybe look into using your reefkeeper to run it as well?I have an extra Jaebo controller you can have if you want it. I've had two pumps go out on me over time about the same way and neither I could get working again. At $60, I'll just keep replacing as I go. [emoji4]
  18. No, mine does that at night sometimes or when it eats something.
  19. Added my pink chalice to the mix! This thing is stocked and ready to go for Saturday!
