  1. Forget the fish, I'm going to start eating them! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  2. Tell the boss to lay off me for a bit and give me a couple days off! I'll science the heck out of it then! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  3. Neither! It appears exactly the same to me as far as coloration and growth is concerned. I'll snap two frags of a coral one day and place one under each light and observe. I just need to finish the scape on my left rock first before I do that so I have a place to put the frag.
  4. Well if you're only planning on a yellow and a clown tang as your only two tangs, I think you should be good!
  5. You're getting a clown tang! [emoji33]
  6. So double the old tank volume is the new metric we should be looking at for tank upgrades? I can't wait! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  7. I want it! Remind to buy anything Potter's! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. Well one officially doesn't exist anymore as it didn't make it but the dussemeri tang is living it up in the DT. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  9. Let's keep those one word exclamations coming! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

  11. My morning just got rocked! I officially know nothing now! http://reefbuilders.com/2015/07/14/stony-corals-lotta-scientific-names/
  12. Very interesting! You have any links so I can read up more on these?

  14. Get the 10' now... we'll figure out a way to get it past the stairs! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  15. Getting a little irked that people have been borrowing things and never giving them back. May have to go to a deposit system.

Thanks guys/gals. No to the Apex, my face, and a dollar but Patrick, if you need the fish trap, come and get it. Just leave your car keys as a deposit. :-p

  16. It's not the aquascaping, it's the size of the tank. If that scape was in a 300 gallon for instance, perfect. [emoji41] You start looking for that bigger tank and I'll rally the tank moving crew together again. [emoji12] Jokes aside, it's coming together real nice! I'm looking forward to seeing it.
  17. Last bump! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  18. I got an emperor causing terror in the tank and you ask me about the trigger? [emoji12] The niger trigger is well behaved. He's got so much personality! He hasn't tried to eat any corals, fish, or clean-up crew yet... time will tell. He's a little aggressive during feeding time but that has subsided once he realized he's the smallest of 3 big fish in the tank.
  19. I've heard of using those small butane torches but I don't see why a lighter might not work. Just be careful heating it for too long as you don't want to heat the rock itself too much or you may indirectly burn your coral. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  20. Even a hammer and a small flathead will do the trick. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  21. I've found that some cheap electrical wire cutters at harbor freight works well to snap through rock. It's kind of a limited use application as the salt rusts the tool eventually but for a couple bucks, it's worth it to me in certain cases. Might want to give that a try or find a friend with a dremel. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  22. Nitrates don't absorb into rocks or sand so they don't leach like phosphates do. If I had to guess, 1) your added sponge in the sump may be adding to your nitrate problem or 2) perhaps your phosphate level is too low and your meter is reading higher than it is? Meaning you're really at close to zero for phosphates and the bacteria in the biopellet reactor aren't multiplying because of the lack of phosphates causing your nitrates to stay high. Just a guess... you can even call it a wild guess. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  23. You have a picture of this thing on the rock/scoly? Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  24. I'd just cut it off the frag if you can. Make sure you get into the rock itself and remove it's foot. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
