  1. Are you planning on going with a steel stand or a wooden stand?
  2. Thank you sir! That's 2-3 years of good growth on that thing with a tank upgrade in between. It's sold by the way! Thanks folks! I'll have some smaller incidental frags for the auction at our meeting this Saturday at Dan's and Meg's.
  3. Clove oil is considered to be the most humane. It basically knocks it out. You can buy it at HEB for $6 in the natural medication section. Freezing is considered a terrible way to go as its slowly suffocating with no water and then the cold starts creeping in. A blunt trauma to the head may be a more ideal way if no clove oil is present. Just my 2 cents.
  4. Every 3 months should be a standard. I can't believe I haven't done that for most of the years I've been keeping tanks but I started that this year and what a difference it makes! I actually have 4 pumps since the Jaebo pumps are so cheap and I rotate out two clean ones and let the other two soak in vinegar to clean them and then store for the next swap.
  5. Still available. Let me know before the end of today or it's going to a fish store. Thanks!
  6. If you'd had shown up at my house a week early, I'd turn the hose on you! Naturally, it would be RO/DI water coming out of that hose with 0 TDS. Get out of here you bunch of reef nerds! [emoji23] Dan is so much nicer than me!
  7. Well, I'll give you first dibs before taking it to a LFS if nobody picks it up this weekend. I'd like for someone to get it whole if possible first since its such a stunner. I mean, just the sheer size with the bright green to dark brown contrast is a amazing and doesn't show up well on pictures. It's definitely one of those corals that just looks way better as a huge colony. The LFS will chop it up anyways so I'd rather get it to you if that's the case. [emoji106]
  8. For scale, that's a frag plug there and the emperor is about 6" long.
  9. By the way, I removed it in one piece and it is about a 15" x 15" triangle. Yowzers!
  10. There is definitely some collateral damage. I'll have some good sized pieces I'll post later this week and bring to the meeting next Saturday.
  11. It's just taking up too much room in my tank and I'd rather put more acros in its place. First $100 gets it. It's gorgeous and huge! Best estimate is about 14" across and 12" wide. I still have to remove it from the rock so I can't promise it'll all be in one piece. I'll do my best! If it isn't spoken for before the end of the weekend, it'll go to a LFS.
  12. Nice prices! I don't think you posted your number.

    That's pretty hilarious!
  14. I'm a big fan of chloroquine phosphate for treating ich and marine velvet. Here's my thread on it. It was too late for the fish as the disease was too advanced by then I'm guessing but as a QT, I think it would work perfectly. http://www.austinreefclub.com/index.php?/topic/33229-Marine-Velvet-Treatment
  15. That's definitely good news!
  16. Man, it's like box heaven in there! I like how the tank is coming together sir!
  17. Generally you will have to dose Mg when you run a CaRX unless you add a Mg supplement such as NeoMag into the reactor to melt along with the CaRX media. You will also notice a higher depletion rate of Mg if you have a lot of coralline algae, that's why I go against the grain and actually dislike coralline algae in my system.
  18. You're starting to put together a really nice collector's edition of fish there! Do you still have that regal angelfish that was eating oysters from the first day? I gave up on them... I could never get a healthy specimen and when I did, I could never get it to eat.
  19. This is why all my threads always get steered off topic. The peanut gallery... [emoji16]
  20. Just be careful. I heard the best dips come in threes.
