    I thought because it's a mechanical relay versus a spring activated switch. The coil spring in a regular solenoid wears out pretty quickly from metal fatigue. But that's just from the top of my head.

    I'm sure I'll have QT-specific tools down the road but I haven't quite gotten that far in planning yet. I'd like to setup the QT in the office so that should keep it sufficiently far enough away to prevent any airborne transmissions.

    That's all I've been preaching the last 3-4 years. But since I'm closing the borders and nothing will come in without at least a month in QT (corals and fish), then it's worth it to me now to do this if needed. Hopefully I don't need to though, it's going to be a pain in the rear.

    Interesting theory. By observation though, I think he gets about the same since I feed the DT tons of algae. Percentage-wise, the powder blue only makes up probable estimated 1/20th the volume of fish mass in the tank, since he's one of the smaller fish. I think in your tank, he was the biggest, along with the foxface and a wrasse, if I'm remembering right. I'll give the UV being plumbed directly in the DT some more time but if after the January meeting, things haven't cleared up like they usually do, then I'll look into full fish removal for 10 weeks to rid the system of ich.

    The emphasis is on a live demonstration of the three I employ the most for acropora and I might have a guest dipper for all those LPS/Zoa dips people utilize to cover the full spread.

    I've heard there's a rehoming fee for the CRP? He was ich free for 3 months in my sump. Once I put him amongst the general population, he broke out and hasn't stopped. I think I have a population density that's making it really hard for it to go away. It only takes one to not be resistant enough to it and boom, 10x the population of ich in the tank again. I think if I had half the fish, it wouldn't be as much of an issue.

    That's exactly what I pictured for carrying it into the house. I have one furniture dolly I can bring, maybe two if whoever borrowed my other one ever brings it back. Let's measure that front door just to be sure it'll fit. [emoji4]

    You mean your corals are conveniently disconnected from the rock and arranged for easy picking? Gee, I hope someone doesn't break into your house and run off with them I'm enrolling my corals in an acropora protection program! They'll be moved to an undisclosed place with new identities and start a new life somewhere else safe from predators like you!

    Those should be straight from delivery I'd imagine. Aaron hasn't setup a system for acros yet and honestly, that's probably a good idea with a new system like that.

    Two or three furniture dollies should probably do it. I'd carry the tank to your front door and then set it down on dollies to slide it through the front door and into the house from that point on. Do you have to pick up the tank from a remote location or are they delivering to your curb?

    Yeah, I don't know about that! I have coral colonies laying everywhere in my tank right now and I'm about a month or so away from wanting to remove all my fish and going fishless if my powder blue never kicks ich. There's always something to fight! Haha.
